Two brothers, George and James Weir, found the engineering firm of G & J Weir. The brothers, descendants of Robert Burns, produce ground-breaking inventions in pumping equipment – primarily for the world famous Clyde shipyards and the steam ships being built there.

Qualifications
- Fresh graduate with Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Production, Automobile Engineering, or related engineering discipline
- Applicants with a strong academic record (typically CGPA of 7.0 or above) are encouraged to apply
- Strong engineering fundamentals (design, materials, mechanics, manufacturing processes)
- Exposure to CAD tools (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks, NX or equivalent)
- Basic understanding of product development lifecycle and engineering documentation
Responsibilities
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to Weir’s zero-harm behaviors in support of the drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
- Support design and development of new products through creation and modification of CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
- Assist in component and assembly optimisation using engineering tools and prescribed processes.
- Participate in feasibility studies, prototype builds, testing, and design validation activities.
- Follow stage-gate and product development processes to ensure timely and structured execution of NPD projects.
